Security information

Some students will be involved in projects that require sensitivity to security issues. Vital information about security will be sent to your student by mail in their approval packet if applicable.

Please make sure you and your student read ALL of this information CAREFULLY before departing on your project.

Thousands of college students participate in international missions assignments through the International Mission Board each year. The IMB exercises every precaution to ensure that students are not sent into openly hostile situations. Sometimes, a peaceful environment can change without warning so it is not possible to say that students have never found themselves in tense situations. However, the IMB policy does include evacuation plans for all personnel whenever such notices are issued from the United States government or sooner if deemed necessary by our field leadership.

The status of collegiate assignments is determined in consulation with field missionaries. If the field determines that it is advisable for a trip to be cancelled, postponed, or reassigned we will inform the affected teams at that time. Also, we ask that teams let us know of any decision to cancel projects if they hear directly from missionaries that such action has taken place. The IMB also understands if the stateside team feels it is necessary to postpone or cancel their tip. We will communicate that decision to the field and do all we can to help reschedule the project if possible.

In Christ,
