The
Ultimate Pilot—Sudan/Kenya
Remember when you first got your driver’s license?
You were out on the open road, feeling as free as
a bird—at least until you remembered that your
mom wanted you to pick up a few groceries and maybe
the dry cleaning while you’re out. There are
lots of things to watch out for along the way, too,
like kids on bicycles, people jogging and detour signs.
Whether he’s dropping off supplies for missionaries
or flying them to a safer place, missionary pilot
Chad Tilley has to keep his eyes open to the possibility
of being shot down. Despite the dangers, Chad keeps
his eyes on his Protector and Co-pilot Jesus Christ.
Theme:
God is with us always.
Scripture:
Psalm 40:11
Discussion
Questions:
1. Why is Sudan a dangerous place for Christians?
2. What are some of the reasons Chad is willing to
fly into dangerous places?
3. What Bible verses do you know that give you courage?
Pray
For...
* Chad’s safety as he flies to help others.
* The people in southern Sudan to know Jesus.
* More Christians to trust God to help them take the
gospel to hard-to-reach people.
Heather Mercer and Dayna
Curry—Afghanistan
When you think about it, few things are matters of
life and death—no matter how much that failed
exam or that fender bender may seem like it at the
time. Not long into their imprisonment for showing
the JESUS film to an Afghan family, Heather Mercer
and Dayna Curry could only wait and see if sharing
their faith would mean the ending of their lives.
As they waited, people prayed, and God delivered these
women from the hands of their captors. Having regained
their earthly freedom, these two women hope to return
to Afghanistan to help set others eternally free through
Christ.
Theme:
Through God’s power, we are conquerors.
Scripture:
Romans 8:35-39
Discussion
Questions:
1. What things made Heather and Dayna fearful?
2. What were Heather and Dayna warned about before
they went to Afghanistan?
3. What made Heather and Dayna bold?
Pray
For...
* The people of Afghanistan to come to know Jesus
as their Lord and Savior.
* The Lord’s protection for Afghan believers.
* The Holy Spirit to use Heather and Dayna’s
story to move others to follow God wherever He leads.
