God is Moving in Beirut
- a Report from the Field
•
Through the reading of a Bible given by one of our
team members, N. found God. Not only that, she now
states that she is a messenger for Jesus and has
a passion for others to know Him. She is being discipled
as she continues to grow in her "new found" faith.
• S., an elderly Muslim lady, sat in her apartment
and prayed for a Bible. Shortly after this, one of
our team members showed up at her apartment with
the gift of God's Word. S. told our team member how
she believes the Jesus is the Son of God and that
the Bible is true. Today, S. is studying the Scriptures
and talking about what she is learning.
• During the Lebanese Missions Conference, many people
committed to being more involved in taking God’s
renown all throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
• During Ramadan (the month of fasting and seeking
God), a lady asked a team member if she could explain
more to her about the story of Jesus because she
wants to know “this God.”
• A young girl had a dream in which God told her that
a woman would come to her. The next day, a team member
showed up and as the answer to the dream. Today,
that team member is sharing the love of Jesus and
the Gospel with the girl’s whole family.
• Through one of the volunteer groups that came to
Beirut, one of our team members met K. who had come
to faith in Christ. The team member had been meeting
with K. to disciple her. Just the other day, K. took
a bold stand and shared publicly with her whole class
at her Muslim University that she is a follower of
Jesus Christ. This led to the opportunity for her
to share the truth that is only found in Jesus.
These are only a few of the many accounts of God's
working in Beirut. I wish that I had the time and
space to share with you everything that God is doing
in Beirut. He truly is doing more than we could ever
imagine or dream.
We are in need of many volunteers to come to Beirut
during the next two years to share the love of Christ
and pass out Bibles. Therefore, in addition to praying
for wisdom, please join with us and pray for co-laborers.
Christ told the disciples to pray for laborers, so
that is what we are doing. Can you come to Beirut
for a few days, weeks, months or years? Just come
as God leads. Right after Jesus said to pray for
laborers, he told them to go and get to work.
