Persecuted Church: Afghanistan

The Southern Pashtun (POSH-toon) live along the eastern border of Afghanistan and number more than 12.5 million. They are more than 99 percent Islamic, with less than .01 percent professing Christ. While a number of believers meet in small groups, no visible Southern Pashtun church exists. Most Pashtun have no access to the Gospel, with no Scripture in the Southern Pashtun language. Radio programs are available, but little opportunity to promote the broadcasts. Because of severe persecution, most Pashtun believers remain secret most of their lives. The few who are known to be believers will likely lose their families, jobs, opportunities in their society – and even their lives.

Americans pride themselves in their productivity, efficiency and the ability to work on several things at the same time. They have even managed to add a new phrase into everyday conversation to describe what they aspire to do so well – multitasking, but, honestly, we have no reason to stroke our egos for our ingenuity. Just as our God is the creator of creativity, He is the master of multitasking. God is never about only one thing at a time, He is always is working on several levels simultaneously. He not only always sees the big picture – He is the big picture! He desires to take those big theological words like omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscience and multitask them into the reality of our every day walk with Him. Read more . . .
