People Group Focus: Amarakaeri of Peru

The Amarakaeri people of Peru live a simplistic life void of modern distractions such as televisions, restaurants or automobiles. Nearly 1,000 Amarakaeri live hidden in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle. Their seclusion has allowed them to maintain their unique culture, identity and language. Until recently, the Amarakaeri’s isolation also has kept them from hearing the gospel. Read more …

Prayer Points for the Amarakaeri

1. Ask God for more people to pray regularly for the Xtreme Team ministry. Would you be an Xtreme Pray-er?

2. Ask God to glorify Himself in this ancient culture with His true message of love and salvation.

3 Ask God to send more laborers to the harvest field among the Amakaeri and other Xtreme peoples. Will you serve with us?

How do IMB Missionaries Get Paid?

1. You give your tithe and offerings to your church . . .

2. Then your church gives to the Cooperative Program along with all 42,000 other Southern Baptist Churches. . .

3. Then a percentage of that money goes to your international missionaries.

Keep missionaries on the field - give to the Cooperative Program!

Persecuted Church: Nigeria

Three students expelled for sharing the gospel last November say their rights as Christians were violated by authorities of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in northern Nigeria.

The university’s disciplinary committee, comprised of ten Muslims and one Christian, accused the students of blasphemy against the prophet of Islam, Mohammed, and created a situation in which the students were expelled and a death sentence passed on them by the Muslims in the university. Read more . . .

Bible Study: God's Renown

By Suzanne Mosely

Around the world, people bow to idols made of stone, wood, and dirt. Fear of their gods is uppermost in their minds, but the good name and renown of the One True God is nowhere on their radar screens. Is the renown of God uppermost in our minds, however, as we live out our comfortable American lives? Read more about making God primary in your life.
