Zambia Strongholds are Crumbling
From imb.org/compassionnet
In Africa, there are reports of wars, hunger, political
instability, and even genocide. The strongholds of the evil
one are very real and extend below the surface of everyday
life, so there is no room for complacency here. Yet in the
face of these obstacles, we have His promise, the promise
of a Word that will not be defeated. The Gospel not only
expands, it burrows. What a joy to see God’s saving
power penetrate the world and lives of African people! In
Zambia, a conference for AIDS education and training was
recently hosted. Although that is not unusual for mission
groups in Africa, this time the participants were not just
pastors, but chaplains in the Zambian Army, Air Force, Police,
and National Service (sort of a National Guard). One attendee
serves in the State House (like the American White House).
Their dedication and desire to “dig deep” below
the usual level of religious talk and custom impressed the
meeting leaders. Five more conferences will follow throughout
this year, and these men, taking what they are learning,
will make an impact in Zambia. Please pray for these upcoming
conferences and for the penetrating power of God’s
Word in African society. The forces of evil here are real,
but they are not unopposed. And the Bible makes the eventual
victor very clear. Pray that many more will be on the winning
side on that Great Day to come as a result of exposure to
the truth of God’s Word.
