Chinese
Teachers Learn About Jesus
By
Allan C.
Being an American in China arouses the curiosity of most
Chinese. They are anxious to speak to you and learn all
they can about you and America. I had many students and
teachers coming and asking questions about me, why I came
to China, my life in America, etc.
It seemed that whenever questions came up about religion
or Christianity, there was someone (a stranger) standing
or sitting near by listening to what was being said. Not
knowing who they were, I was afraid to say anything that
may jeopardize our team. This went on for almost a week
and I brought this up in our morning team devotional meeting.
The entire team prayed that these strangers would leave
and that we would be allowed to speak freely.
The next day, there was not anyone around as I was speaking
to a teacher and other students. The teacher wanted me
to talk about Jesus. She wanted to learn all about Him.
It was a wonderful time of sharing as I was free to speak.
Every morning before breakfast and class, we would meet
in a gazebo and talk about Jesus.
One
evening as I was studying my lesson for the next day,
there was a knock on my door. There stood the teacher with
a friend asking to come in and talk. She sat down with
her friend and said "We want to be just like you.
We want to become Christians. What do you suggest?" I
am so thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity I
had to explain the plan of salvation and give her material
of the four spiritual laws! Today this teacher is a Christian
and has led one of her students to the Lord.
There were a total of 4 of those I shared with who came
to accept Christ. I give all the glory to Him and that
is why I am so grateful that I had a chance to go to China.
I hope this story will help many young people to go in
boldness and trust Him completely, because we serve an
awesome God.
