Faithful Young Men Needed
From CompassionNet Daily Prayer
Thank God for the young men who attend the Friday youth
group, which meets at the Genesis Center near Margate, South
Africa. Missionaries Steve and Cala Flippos report that
they have been having some very strange weather on the south
coast. One recent Friday, even though it was the heart of
summer, they awoke to cold and rain. It really was a tough
day, for most Zulu do not have a car but walk or take public
transportation everywhere. They thought no one would show
up for the youth group, as they must come a quarter mile
or more, but Steve and Cala went anyway. What a surprise
when they pulled in to see one young man waiting! They unlocked
the doors to the Genesis Center and waited. Soon three others
came, crossing the highway. They were excited to have four
young men. About 15 minutes after starting, four more guys
came running to the center in the downpour. To get there,
the boys had walked in the cold and pouring rain, some with
an umbrel la and some not. They were wet and cold, but when
it was time to worship, they sang loudly. They listened
so closely to the message of Christ’s resurrection.
Two of these young men had been saved the previous Friday
night. Another shared that he thought God may want him in
the ministry. Pray that these young men will continue to
be committed to the Lord.
Southern Africa is desperate for faithful young men to
share the gospel with other men in these cultures. The land
is parched for the gospel and the men try to quench their
spiritual thirst with everything except God – primarily
because there are few faithful men who can tell them of
Jesus, the Water of Life.
