Dreams and Visions in Lebanon
By Christian Workers on the field
Jasmine
and Rachel are sisters from Saudi Arabia who came to
Lebanon to go to school. Last summer, both had unique
encounters with Jesus. Jasmine, the older of the two, saw
Jesus in a dream. Rising up out of the sea, He pointed
at her and her friends and told them to stop doing the
bad things that they had been doing. Rachel also had a
dream about Christ where she was introduced to the power
of the cross. In her dream, everywhere she looked she saw
the cross. It was so white that she could hardly look at
it, yet she was compelled to look at it. Being a very spiritual
person, Rachel was convinced that her dream meant something,
but she wasn’t sure what. Not long after these mysterious
dreams, some volunteers visited Rachel and Jasmine and
offered them a New Testament. These followers of Jesus
were able to share the truth about the Jesus Rachel and
Jasmine had seen in their dreams.
Arabs believe in God’s ability to communicate to
us through dreams. In fact, there are many stories of
Muslims who first meet Jesus in a dream and later decide
to follow Him. This summer, we have the opportunity to
work with volunteers again, giving out Bibles and sharing
Jesus with those interested. We want to meet more people
like Rachel and Jasmine, who were prepared to meet us
by a personalized message from God. Would you join our
team during in asking God to visit many here with dreams
and visions about Jesus? Let’s ask Jesus to prepare
our way as we take the gospel to those who have never
heard. We'll be sending you an extra 3 or 4 emails this
month on this particular focus.
“Soon--and it will not be very long—the
wilderness of Lebanon will be a fertile field once again.
And the
fertile fields will become a lush and fertile forest. In
that day deaf people will hear words read from a book,
and blind people will see through the gloom and darkness.
The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord.
Those who are poor will rejoice in the Holy One."
Isaiah29:17-19
