Golden Arches Lead to Heaven
From the Central and Eastern Europe Newsletter
Sometimes Americans find themselves having a feeling of
nostalgia when they live in a foreign country that has a
McDonald’s. There are times when a family just needs
a hamburger and French fries! But for one missionary family
in Russia, the nostalgia was turned to hope as a Russian
family prayed to receive Christ. Leslie Burch was meeting
a family at McDonald’s to help them with an upcoming
English exam. The family was previously unknown to her but
she sensed that they were not believers. After sharing the
gospel with them, they wanted to become believers right
then. “The father, Anatolly, his oldest daughter Anna,
and his youngest daughter, DeAnna, prayed to begin a relationship
with the Father on the top floor at a middle table in McDonald’s!
Praise God people can find the Old Rugged Cross anywhere,
even under the Golden Arches!” exclaimed Leslie.
