A
father comes to the father
As
Father’s Day approaches, too many fathers of Japan’s
heartland are unaware of the Father of all fathers. Mr.
T., however, has found his long-awaited Father! Baptist
representative Ronny Cooksey tells how Mr. T. grew up during
World War II. His father committed suicide when he was 2,
his mother when he was 4. During the post-war occupation,
through the American military’s work with orphans,
Mr. T. received his first Bible. Last summer, a high school
volunteer team distributed 25,000 Jesus cassettes. “One
group got lost-in front of Mr. T.’s house!”
says Cooksey. They invited him to house church and he’s
seldom missed a service since.” In time, Mr. T., now
age 60, accepted Christ and wanted to be baptized. Ask the
Father of all fathers to help Mr. T. become the leader in
his home, according to the instructions God has given in
His Word. Pray for his wife and grown daughters, who are
not yet believers. May he represent, also, the fathers of
the Japanese heartland-and the world-who so need to know
the Lord.
