A New Evangelist is Born
From a Christian worker newsletter
On Wednesday the 28th Feb. '07 I received an urgent call
from a dear Christian sister in Amman (Jordan). She said
that it was important that we immediately visit a young
man who was involved in a serious accident. Maha and I went
to visit this Muslim man and his wife in the most exclusive
residential area of Amman. We were not prepared at all for
what we heard. Here is what the man (we'll call him Ahmad)
told us, as his wife (we'll call her Nora) actively participated
in telling the story.
While Ahmad was driving his 'Harley Davidson' motor bike
in Dubai (small country in the Arabian Penninsula), the
car immediately before him screeched to an immediate halt.
Ahmad's bike hit the car at full speed breaking the car
windows. In the process, he was hurled into space for some
20 meters and hit the road head first. An air ambulance
was called in. The medics saw his head cracked in several
places with other fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead.
He was placed in a black bag with zippers and was flown
to the nearest hospital in Dubai. As hospital workers were
carrying Ahmad's 'body' to the mortuary, they sensed a slight
movement in the zipped up bag. They ran away in fear placing
him on the nearest table. The doctors rushed to the mortuary
and ordered Ahmad to be sent to the ICU where he remained
for 11 days. He was later moved to another hospital for
two weeks.
Ahmad told me that while he was in the ICU with little
sign of life, a man clad in white 'with an amazingly warm
smile' touched me on the forehead and told me that He'll
come back to life. He told me his name was Jesus. In the
vision Jesus told him: "I want you to proclaim my Name
wherever go in front of all people". In time Ahmad
recovered, with his head and other injuries fully healed.
He wanted to know more about Jesus and the purpose in life.
My wife and I talked with Ahmad and Nora for a whole hour.
What a great joy it was to see this lovely couple surrender
their lives to Christ. Jesus still heals soul and body today.
We gave them a copy of the Arabic film 'Jesus' based on
the Gospel of Luke with a copy of the New Testament and
a 'More Than A Carpenter'. My wife and I prayed for them
them for fuller healing. They were deeply touched.
Ahamd phoned me Thursday the 1st Mar. '07 to say that he
experienced great peace the night before and that he was
now able to move those parts in his body which he could
not move before. He also testified that he experienced a
specific healing from a condition that he suffered from
before the accident! What a mighty God we serve.
We agreed to join them for a meal Friday the 2nd March.
Your prayer will be greatly appreciated for this young couple.
Should you receive this message after those dates please
pray anyway. I believe God answers prayers retroactively!
Jesus is at work among Arabic-speaking people today. Praise
His Holy Name.
