| The Persecuted Church
China
God’s presence in persecution
The moment was unlike any other as a small group of Christian workers waited to hear the house-church leader answer the question. They knew that this man who had been cruelly beaten and imprisoned many years for his faith possessed keen insights. Despite everything, he had continued to faithfully proclaim Christ. And so they sat enthralled as they waited to hear his answer to the question, "How shall we ask people to pray for the church in China?"
Firmly and with determination, he replied, "Don’t ask God to put an end to the persecution. Pray instead that those who are suffering will sense God’s presence with them, and that He will be glorified through their lives and witness."
