Question 6: What happens after a team leader has selected a team project?

Answer:

Step One

Verify the availability of the project selected with the Student Mobilization Team (1-800-789-4693 or jramirez@imb.org).

Step Two: Team Application

Complete the team registration.

Step Three: Approval Packet Information

The Team Leader will receive an Approval Packet via e-mail which includes:

  • Project Description & Field Contact Information
  • Travel Agent Information
  • Insurance Information
  • Security Information (if applicable
  • Emergency Contact Information to take on your trip
  • Instructions for Registration Part 2

Step Four: Contact your field supervisor for cultural information, including:
Note: Identify Security Level and Read Security Document (Approval Packet) BEFORE contacting the field!

  • What clothes/shoes are appropriate for the culture and the climate
  • Housing on the field
  • Food on the field
  • Specifics about your job
  • Information about the religion and lifestyle of the people group
  • Gender roles and how men and women relate to each other in the culture
  • Receptivity to the Gospel among the people group with whom they work
  • How to share the Gospel with this people group
  • What ministry materials to bring
