Question 3: How does a team leader
choose an international project for his/her team?
Answer:
If you are the leader of a team that you have selected,
you will be responsible for selecting a project for your team.
First, determine the type of work your team is best suited
to do. Then look through the list of
projects on the Web site or consult the printed project
list that the IMB Student Mobilization Team sent you at
the first of the school year. If you did not receive a printed
list and would like copies, please contact the Student Mobilization Team at isd.student@imb.org
or 1-800-789-4693. To receive this list each semester, please
send a message to the Student Mobilization Team requesting your name to be added to
our database.
Once you have decided on a project,
double-check the following items:
- Does the project request a team or only an individual
student or two?
- Does the project coincide with the time you are available?
- Is the project in an area of the world to which you can
travel, work and return in the amount of time you
have available to be on mission? For example, if you want
to be on mission during spring break, then Europe, Latin
America and the Caribbean Basin will be better options than
Asia, Africa or the Middle East because of the travel time
required.
- Is the project available? If the project is listed on
the Web site, it is still available to your team.
