New life in Mexico
We were denied visas into Cuba. For me, personally,
this was heartbreaking, but I realized that God is already
doing great things in Cuba. The whole summer was like a roller-coaster
rideat times it was incredibly thrilling; at other times
I felt sick. We had a plan A through Z, and then there was
Gods plan. It just took us a little while to get to
Gods plan.
The last week of our project we were in Cancun. We had the
opportunity to work with a group called World Changers. They
needed us to translate for them. World Changers is a group
of students that builds things like churches. I had never
done construction. I was kind of put out by the idea of it.
However, I can really say that it was the best time I have
had in a long while.
One day I had an opportunity to share with Arturo, one of
the Mexicans that was working with us. I told him to go home
and think about what I said. The next day rolls around and
I was working the cement mixer, and I started worrying about
my parents. I hadnt talked to them in a long time, and
I toyed with the idea of calling, but something stopped me
and I went upstairs where I found several Mexicans including
Arturo. The missionarys daughter was with them, and
I had the opportunity to help her lead Arturo to the Lord.
God is so good.
