Why Go? Some have estimated that as few as 2% of the student population in London is Christian. Young people from nearly every nation can be found studying here and preparing for a career either back home or abroad. IWC will work with university students on three campuses to develop relationships and share Christ through sports, creative arts, coffee house ministries, acts of kindness, and direct evangelism.

About London: London is a world-class, highly urban metropolis of 12 million people. It is the capital of England, the center of British politics, and arguably the financial capital of the world. It will be host to the 2012 Summer Olympics in late July and August. London is incredibly busy as a transportaion hub with four major airports, a dense network of train and tube (subway) lines, and crowded motorways.  London is also known in the UK as the "sunny south of England" which is a relative description. So what's the weather really like? Who knows? The weather in London can change day to day, but expect it to be cloudy and wet 70% of the time.

Cultural Information: 50% of Londoners are immigrants. Nearly every nation of the world is represented within the city. Visitors will encounter a cross-cultural, multi-national environment more pronounced than any place in the Western world (with slightly British overtones). Although English is the language of the land, for many residents it will not be the original tongue of their birth or extended family. The primary world-view in the UK tends towards materialism and secularism, but the presence and significance of Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu influence as wekll as other faiths is growing.
